In six weeks we had the first vegetables of our labors! Two bell peppers! We used them on a pizza. Mmmm. We only got two more peppers but the garden still looks great! I must say I was pleasantly surprised. :) This is our "obedience garden." Four peppers won't support a family but at least we're obeying the prophet.
While putting on Isis' shoe last month she wiggled while I held her foot and, well, I sprained it. Yep, she made her first trip to the ER, got x-rays, and everything.

For anyone who doesn't know, I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!! I LOVE traditions and this is one time of year that is steeped in tradition for me and my family. And now I get the chance to pass them along to my own little family.
On Friday night I made preparations for the gingerbread house making. This was my first time actually making the gingerbread and cutting out the pieces.
Saturday morning I got them ready to go.
And now the fun part! This was Isis' first time to decorate a gingerbread house. She got a good start at frosting it.
Naturally, she had to make sure the frosting was good enough to go on her gingerbread house.
After confirming the quality of the frosting, and a little help, it was time for the accessories.
Mmm...
After some tastey contemplating, Isis decided to go with the snowy cottage look. Simple is good. (She would have licked it clean again if we'd let her.:) )
Jeremy's awesome gingerbread house. I LOVE his Christmas "lights" and the porch cover he put on it. He's so creative. :)
I have reached a new milestone in my life. I now get to decorate a large gingerbread house because I'm the mom. :) WOW! It was fun though took much longer. One of the best parts was that Jeremy & I finished ours up after Isis went to bed so we kind of got a stay-at-home date our of it. I sure love talking to my husband. AND doing a Christmas tradition.... does it get any better??

That was a great update...loved all the pictures...Isis is SO adorable! I love how you let her at it with the icing and all! Your gingerbread houses are amazing!
Okay, your gingerbread house is adorable. By the way, my husband and I have been keeping an obedience garden for 4 years now. We have learned things every year from it, but never recover the cost of it. The things we almost always grow successfully are tomatoes (especially cherry ones) and zucchini. Did you know you can also plan fall gardens. Unfortunately we are always to late to do this but eventually we will get our act together enough to do one of these as well. Good luck with your gardening - it is fun to watch things grow even if they are not successful. Your daughter is sure fun, and successful.

You guys are so crafty! I'm very impressed... especially with your ginger bread house... nice piping, you must have very steady hands. It's nice to see what you guys have been up to. We can't wait until Kimball goes to nursery... it will make church a little easier.
