Always playing catch up

(I wrote the title and was tempted in my tired state to intentionally write "ketchup" instead. Yep, going a little crazy over here.)

Where did I leave off this time? March? Good grief. Here's some highlights from our last two months...
-Aubrey started "army" crawling; however, just today she started crawling on her knees!
-At the beginning of the month Aubrey got her first teeth, both top ones, at the same time.
-We hit 104 degrees already in Vegas. :)
-We've been hiking in Red Rock and at Mt. Charleston (or Mountain Charleston as the girls say)
-We took a weekend trip to San Diego and visited the Zoo and the beach
-Celebrated Easter
-Visited a local orchard/farm
-Played outside A LOT
-I helped with teacher appreciation week at school (decorating doors)
-Isis had her first Field Day at school and I got to be there with her
-I'm attempting to implement a job chart/routine for the girls... it's hard only because it's more work for me (in having to change the jobs and remember to ask them to do them)
-On Saturday Isis had her unicorn birthday party with her friends..... Seven. Girls. whoa. But it was a success.

Now for your viewing enjoyment, pictures of some of the above mentioned events...

(Okay, so I have no idea what blogger just did but now these pictures are not in any order whatsoever. So here's a jumbled assortment of what we've been up to. :))

We had a Family Home Evening lesson about the armor of God and protecting ourselves from the "firey darts". After talking about the scripture, the girls used their "armor" while Jeremy and I threw "firey darts" (foam balls) at them. We all had a good time. :)

Posing on a break at Red Rock

I just want to eat up this cute baby!

My little rock monkey

Nothing like a good ol' game of duck-duck-goose at your birthday party

Picking snap peas. Elise informed me she wants to be a farmer.
She also wants to be an astronaut.

I love all the space in our backyard now. Even if it encourages more messy playing.

We saw a big horn sheep on our hike at Red Rock! Cool!

How to contain a baby while you do yard work.

San Diego Zoo

YOU'RE my dad?

so excited to pet the goat.

Loving the beach

my Easter bunnies

Me and my girls

This is what they were NOT supposed to be doing...

We went to a grocery store that still used paper bags and I couldn't resist making these with the girls.
I know I'm not the only one who did this as a kid.

Trampoline fun (every kid should have one)

Elise informed me that she is wearing her hat like a boy. :)

Field Day!

Enjoying our first 100 degree weather
Even 100 degrees can get chilly... warm up break!

Painting unicorn shirts at her unicorn party

SIX YEARS OLD!!! Where does the time go??

My first attempt at using fondant... not terribly shabby.
(Too bad I started melting the unicorn's face off with the candle!)

I got some wonderful gasps and Ooos (that only little girls can give) when I cut open the cake to reveal a rainbow! Yes, we're very exciting and fancy at this house. :)

saving a hurt butterfly

An attempt to spend the night on the trampoline with Daddy. Isis lasted until 9pm. It was too noisy with all the cars. Elise lasted until 10:00pm. She would have stayed out there all night with Daddy but even Daddy needed some sleep. :)

Lest you think I have conquered my enemy Laundry, here's proof I have not.
It gets bad enough to consume my husband... at least he sleeps through it.

Yes, Elise is gently cradling a statue of a baby polar bear. :)

This baby LOVED the beach!

Rub a dub dub!
This reminds me of a poem: There are too many kids in the tub.
There are too many elbows to scrub.
I just washed a behind, that I'm sure wasn't mine.
There are too many kids in the tub!

 How I love these girls!!!

In boat waiting for the rain...
