Isis singing

Isis received a singing care bear for Christmas. Now she "sings" her ABCs every time it plays. Maybe that's because she heard the ABCs EVERY day from conception to her birth? :) Whatever the reason, it's too cute not to share. Enjoy!

I had to share this. It just makes your heart happy. How can you not be happy listening to her?!? We were cracking up! (Isis is laughing at the sound of tape being pulled off the roll.)

I think keeping our blog updated is hard for me because not much happens. :) Jeremy goes to work and I'm home with an adorable, fast-growing Isis. Now There's Three in the Family

Isis Elizabeth Gwin was born Monday, May 21st at 1:17am. She weighed 5lbs. 7 oz. and was 19 inches long. She was quite a surprise, coming 5 weeks early. They didn't give a reason but I'm thinking it might have had something to do with jumping rope with my Kindergarteners the Friday before.:) She was in the NICU for a week for her little lungs and jaundice. But now she's home, healthy, and getting fatter.:)

The first month was, well, quite honestly, miserable. I thought I would handle the lack of sleep without much problem. Oh how little I knew about myself! Nonetheless, we have servived. We're up to 5 or 6 hours a night! Yea! Good thing she's cute or this would be a lot harder. Isis is a good baby and smiles a lot (when she's not hungry). All is well with us!

Awesome patio

My family came for the week and "helped" (in other words did completely) in putting a patio in our backyard. Here are the before and after pictures. It is awesome!! and we are very excited about it and VERY grateful for the help. It's the start of beautifying our backyard. So more to come. :)

Things for Isis

We're doing things a little at a time. Here's the very green baby room and a quilt top I made for her.

First glimpse of baby Gwin!

Here she is for the first time! The smaller one is the ultrasound at 10 weeks and the other (where you can see her spine) is at 20 weeks. Isis Elizabeth is growing fast... as evident by my ever expanding belly. Wow, who knew a body could change in such huge ways?! :)

Our house

Here is our almost finished house. It is of course finished now and I'll add another picture or two to come. And today we just painted the baby's room! It's a very... lively green. Lots of fun. :)
